Dania Beach - Davie - Hollywood

Dania Beach

Dania Beach is the 1st City in Broward County. It is located just South of the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport and is home to the Dania Beach Jai-Alai Frontron. Dania Beach is also known for its antique district as well as it Beach with John U Lloyd State Park which has a history of being a Gay hang out. It is the last bastian of lower priced housing and many GLBT people are choosing the area to move to. Dania Beach is also the home of the famous Bass Pro Shops / Outdoor World with the largest selection of fishing equipment any where and is located next to the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame. 

Davie

Davie is the home of the Rodeo.  Every week there is a rodeo at the Rodeo Grounds. In 2006 Davie hosted its 1st, and very successful, Gay Rodeo.  The area is also known for its Tropical Gardens and plants and there are several nurseries located there. To keep with the country tradition, many buildings are built to look they are out of the old West.  It is also the home of Cloud 9 a friendly Gay bar owned by Lesbians and it has a little bit of Country, Pool tournaments, and is everybody welcome.

Hollywood, Florida

Hollywood (located in southern Broward county) is conveniently located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

With great access to freeways, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, and Port Everglades - it's easy to see why many gay travelers include Hollywood in their itinerary.

Hollywood can also brag that they the longest Boardwalk and Park along the beach of all the Beaches in Broward County.  It is also know for its very large Round Abouts in the City right on Hollywood Blvd., one on the East side of  I 95 and the other on West of  I 95.

Hollywood has a Gay Bar called Trixies which would be classified as a local bar, but people drive all the way from Miami to go there.  Their niche has become its female impersonnaters and the shows that they put on. It also has a lesbian owned Sports Bar and Restaurant which welcomes eveyone.
